Welcome
Welcome to the Leelanau County Jr. Master Gardener web-site. The classes consist of 9 weeks of class, plus participation in the annual Leelanau County 4-H Expo at Suttons Bay High School.
Having fun while learning is our motto. The classes include learning about plants, soil, ecology, composting, insects, vegetables, flowers, trees, water, native plants, herbs, wildlife and more.
The classes are open to 3rd and 4th grade students and are currently taught at Leland School and St. Mary's School. Classes are taught by Certified Master Gardener Volunteers.
The cost of the 9 week course is $25, which includes all workbooks, materials and the 4-H membership participation fee. Scholarships are available. Please use the contact form for more information. The class size is limited, so please register early. The registration deadline for the 2012 classes is DECEMBER 15TH, 2011. Checks should be made payable to MSUE.
Classes will begin in January, 2012 and further class information will be forthcoming.
